Landmark Study Reveals Impacts of Neurological Conditions on Canadians

Canadians with neurological conditions, caregivers and representatives from Neurological Health Charities Canada celebrate the completion of the National Population Health Study of Neurological Conditions, the first Canadian study of its kind.  The study’s report, Mapping Connections: An Understanding of Neurological Conditions in Canada, highlights the impacts neurological conditions have on affected individuals, their families and the health care system.

“NHCC applauds the Government of Canada for its investment and commitment to the collaborative partnership of the National Population Health Study of Neurological Conditions.  In addition, we express our appreciation to the 177,000 Canadians affected by neurological conditions and the 130 researchers and clinicians who contributed to the study.  This study marks a significant step forward in understanding neurological conditions in Canada and identifies areas where more work is required to improve the lives of all Canadians living with these conditions, their families and caregivers.” Joyce Gordon, Chair, NHCC
